Interesting Sales Statistics

I found some very interesting statistics on Sales from the National Sales Executive Association, that I wanted to share as this shows the importance of following with your contacts/lists and perseverance. These are taken from direct sales but the same applies to Internet Marketing sales;

48% of sales people never follow up with a prospect

25% of sales people stop after the second attempt

12% of sales people stop after the third attempt

Only 10% of sales people make more than three contacts

Now it gets interesting….

2% of sales are made on the first contact

3% of salesare made on the second contact

5% of sals are made on the third contact

10% of sales are made on the fourth contact

80% of sales are made on the fifth to twelfth contact

    Very interesting statistics. I heard from somewhere that the magic number in IM is 7 contacts to maximise the number of sales. I wonder about the psychology here, maybe after 7 attempts, people get fed up and buy just to get rid of you:-)
