Once you have your blog up and running with regular traffic, you then want to start to monetize your blog. This can be done in a number of ways which I will cover over my next few post and I will add others along the way as I progress. As I mentioned in my last post, I will trial, test and write reviews on traffic methods that do an don’t work and will do the same with ways to make money.

There are several ways to make money from your blog but the main three are;

  1. Google Adsense
  2. Banner Advertising affiliate products or your own products
  3. Testing a product and reviewing products

Today I’ll go over Google Adsense.

Google AdSense is a free, simple way, that anyone can sign up to, for website publishers of all sizes to earn money by displaying targeted Google ads on their websites which tend include text or image advertisements that are targeted to site content and audience. These advertisements are administered, sorted, and maintained by Google, and they can generate revenue on either a per-click or per-impression basis.

This is good because once you have applied and been accepted for an Adsense account, you can make money without any of your blog visitors having to buy anything. You make money just by visitors clicking on the ads that Google place on your site.

People have been known to click on their own ads to try and make money but Google pick up on this almost instantly and will be banned you from Adsense, and you will never get an account again so don’t even click once to test it. Tips to get accepted into Goggles AdSense program:

If you need to then ask a friend to click ONCE to test it is set up correctly, but again don’t have all your friends clicking your ads, as again if it’s traced back which it can be with Googles advanced ways and whatever methods they use, you will be banned and will never get an Adsense account again. I suggest this only as a once off to test that it has been set up correctly.

Tips to get accepted into Goggles AdSense program:

  1. Do not apply with a site or blog that is still under construction.
  2. Do not set up just a pure sells site.
  3. Offer the readers some valuable content, Google is all about valuable content
  4. Set up a presentable site, my site had a nice header and title, various plugins added and a side bar, an optin form, categories, calendar, Icons that link to my social sites.
  5. Be certain that your site has no broken links.
  6. Create about 10 – 15 blog posts before applying. I have read people say up to 50-70, but I had 12 posts on my blog when I applied and most of the people on the P2S course had between 10-15 and they all were accepted.
  7. Make sure you’ve had a few visitors to your site and few people have commented on your posts. If you followed the blog commenting/hopping post I wrote last time then you should have a few. If you don’t you can always go on to and pay $5 for a number of comments on your posts.

If you follow all of the above then you should get accepted. When you sign up the steps to follow are pretty straight forward when you apply.

All the Best

    Hi Dominic
Yes having adsense on your blog is one way to monetize it. I have not thought about going to to get some comments on the post though.
I am trying to find different ways as well to get my blog seen and trying to utilize banner advertising.
